Wine

There are many kinds of wine. The types depend on predominantly the type of grapes used. Besides the type of grape, the geography, the soil type and the local yeast culture also defines the taster of the wine. All of these ageing are considered the most important as time totally changes the essence of it. Wines are named after the place in most Europe. The most famous among them are the Bordeaux and Chianti. Non European wines are named after the variety of grapes. like the Merlot.

Wine tasting is a full fledged career today. There are five basic steps in tasting wine: colour, swirl, smell, taste, and savour. Tasting of wine is an art. Wine tasting is the sensory examination and evaluation of wine. In India too, it is bound to catch up with the rising demand for quality wine tasters.

Today’s urban elite are much influenced by the nature of use of wine in western cultures. It is only a matter of time, when India grows out of its fold to embrace the sweet intoxication of wine. With consumption expected to triple in next few years, it is an exciting market to venture into. Already few of our vineyards have started extensive research on the possibility of wine consumption outside metropolitan India and its export.
